Recovery Made Possible for Anyone on the Autism Spectrum
Recover from autism? In the not too distant past, some would have said it was impossible. Or at the least, a miracle. These days, there are ways that people of all ages can recover from this complex bio-psycho-social disorder. And I should know because I am doing just that.
Hello, my name is Montana Burr, and I am thirteen years old. I was diagnosed when I was almost 6 years old. Since then, I have improved steadily, thanks to my mom and many others along what I call my "journey of self-discovery".
If you are worried about your child's future, don't be. He or she can and will recover, you simply have to do something about it. Just keep in mind that recovery is a marathon, not a sprint.
Throughout this website, I will help you to understand the spectrum of autistic disorders better (along with my mom who has done a lot of reading on the subject). Some of the topics I (and my mom) will cover are:
a checklist for signs and symptoms
famous autistic people
autism symptoms and treatments
how vaccines figure into the picture
funding for programs for autistic children
much, much more.
This site is not for me, though. It is for you. It could just have easily been called Your Autism Recovery.
Eventually, I will have a newsletter for you, so you definitely will want to bookmark this page. Also, once I have more content ready, you will have the opportunity to subscribe to my RSS feed. I am looking forward to a time in the not too distant future when I can hear your story. Until then, please keep checking back.
