MMR And Autism

Should I have my child vaccinated for MMR?

From what I have heard, it is not uncommon for a child to receive the MMR vaccine without developing autism afterward, leaving a lot of parents (including my mother) to believe the vaccine has caused autism. A study on bowel disease and autism, published by Dr. Wakefield in 1998, reinforced this belief. This study showed what seems to be a link between MMR and autism, but as the study was not conducted using science, and instead conversing with parents and families of twelve autistic children, there is no proof of the link. Studies from other people followed, again lacking scientific proof. We still do not have proof of this link. Now, I'm not saying that you should or should not give your child this vaccine, rather I will point you to a study done by Dr. Vijendra K. Singh of Utah State University:
